Project
Vuelcos del Destino is the largest single untested gold skarn target intrusive complex measuring 12 sq km, located on the southeastern portion of the Guerrero Gold Belt ("GGB"). Several million ounces of gold has been discovered along this mineralized trend since the 1990s which continues to increase with further brownfields resource expansion and new greenfields discoveries. Current producing mines include Equinox Gold's Los Filos mine and Torex Gold's Morelos Complex, and deposits include Heliostar's Ana Paula deposit, Alamos Gold's Esperanza deposit and Altaley Mining Corporation's Campo Morado mine. One of the first operating mines was the Nukay mine which historically produced 290,000 oz.
This presentation/website contains information about other properties in which Minaurum does not have an interest including Heliostar Metals Limited, Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd, Equinox Gold, Osisko Development Corp., Luca Mining Corp., Torex Gold Resources Inc. and Zacatecas Silver Corp. Information about these properties is not necessarily indicative of the mineralization on the Company's properties.
Intrusions are biotite-and quartz-rich porphyries similar to intrusive rocks associated with gold deposits along the GGB. Contact-related calc-silicate (skarn) and magnetite-oxide-jasperoid alteration is locally developed in the carbonates, and intrusive rocks host widespread structurally controlled oxide-clay-calcite alteration, identical in setting and style to that seen at Equinox's Los Filos and Bermejal open pit mines. The transition from the limestone of the Morelos Formation to the limey shales and siltstones of the Mexcala Formation, where intruded by Laramide stocks is known to be favorable for gold mineralization in the Guerrero Gold Belt. Mineralization may occur along the margins of the intrusive bodies, especially at the levels of the Mezcala-Morelos transition, and/or within the intrusive bodies themselves.
A helicopter-borne Variable Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) / Magnetic survey at the Vuelcos del Destino project was completed and analysis and interpretation of the results, identified trace-element (pathfinder) geochemical anomalies associated with the margins of the intrusive rocks similar to those that host deposits in the Guerrero Gold Belt. Three targets have been outlined that coincide with a 2-km diameter granodiorite porphyry stock that is typical of Guerrero Gold Belt intrusions. Alteration and structural features within the stock are identical in nature to those seen in the Los Filos deposit. Stream-sediment geochemical anomalies coincide with the stock outline and with geophysical targets delineated by the airborne survey.
